Pathways to Literacy

We’re celebrating a major milestone—We Strive for Literacy’s first birthday on March 28th! One year ago, our founder, Cortney Wallace, was deeply moved by Emily Hanford’s investigative series Sold a Story, which exposed the literacy crisis affecting millions of children. Inspired to take action, she left her tech career behind to follow a calling—driven by passion, purpose, and faith—to ensure every child has access to effective literacy instruction. Thanks to your support, we’ve made incredible progress in just one year!

2024 was a defining year for We Strive for Literacy, marked by bold steps, strategic partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to bridging the literacy gap. From refining our mission to establishing key collaborations, every milestone brought us closer to creating meaningful change in literacy education. With each challenge came new opportunities to innovate, expand our reach, and lay the groundwork for a sustainable, impactful future.
