What AmeriCorps VISTA is
AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program that places members full-time for one year at nonprofits to build capacity and fight poverty. Rather than delivering services directly, VISTA members strengthen the organizations that do.
At We Strive for Literacy, VISTA members help build the partnerships, systems, and resources that expand literacy opportunities for children and families—so one year of service can create years of impact for the students we reach.

Build community partnership and family-access systems that strengthen collaboration, reduce enrollment barriers, and connect more children with literacy support.
Communications & Volunteer Recruitment VISTA
Build communications and volunteer recruitment systems that increase awareness, engage community supporters, and create a sustainable volunteer pipeline.
Fundraising & Resource Development VISTA
Build sustainable fundraising systems by researching funding opportunities, developing grant and donor materials, and strengthening sponsorship, stewardship, and resource-development processes.
